JCQ-registered exam centre

A real exam centre — for our learners, and for yours.

Robocode is a JCQ-registered centre for BCS Level 1 + 2, AQA GCSE Computer Science and WJEC. Open to our own Robocoders, and to external private candidates.

Why parents ask about this

“Can they actually sit the exam here?”

Yes — your child sits their exams in the same building they’ve been learning in. Familiar surroundings, calmer test day. JCQ rules mean their own instructor can’t invigilate them, but they’re with our trained invigilators in a room they already know.

We also accept external private candidates — useful for home-educated children sitting GCSEs without a school of record.

Access arrangements

We cater to any access arrangements your child needs.

Sitting an exam shouldn’t be the thing that breaks the result. For neurodivergent learners, anxious children, or anyone with a recognised need, we deliver every JCQ-approved arrangement — in the room they already know, with people they trust.

Tell us at the Free Tech Assessment (or, for private candidates, in your enquiry) and we’ll plan it in long before exam season.

What we deliver

Qualifications we run.

BCS Level 1 + 2

Robotics and coding pathways, recognised as GCSE-equivalent. Sat at our centres, accepted by schools, colleges and employers.

AQA GCSE Computer Science

The full GCSE, sat in the same room our learners study in. Available to Robocoders when ready — some have completed at ages 11 and 12.

WJEC

WJEC qualifications hosted as part of our JCQ-registered provision.

External candidates

Not a Robocoder? You can still sit your exam here.

We accept private candidates for the qualifications we run. Get in touch with your subject, awarding body, and timing — we’ll confirm availability and fees.

Free Tech Assessment

For Robocoders, exams are part of the pathway.

If your child isn't with us yet, the Free Tech Assessment is the first step. We assess starting level, recommend a programme, and lay out the exam route from there.
